1966~
When I was thirteen I began suffering from very high unexplained fevers. I was in and out of the hospital six times and hospitalization months that year. a nurses brought me some art supplies and I started painting and never stopped. After graduating from junior high school, I was admitted to the art professional high school attached to the University of Fine Arts.
As an adult, I lived as a professional artist in Beijing, Tibet, Munich, and Tokyo. I have payed attention to myself. Since the first painting was sold in 1988, two solo exhibitions have been held since then, and I have survived as a professional painter.
Since 2004, I became a Tibetan Buddhist nun in Tibet.
From 2006 to 2019, I founded and ran orphanages and charity schools in Tibet, Sichuan, and YunNan. I realized the inner life, social reality, and the state of existence of thousands of others during that period,
I have been the United States since 2019. I was born under totalitarian rule in Beijing. I have been fighting. Still ran away after all.
My Chinese name is Bing Li which is literally a reflector of the Caltural Revolution in China 1966 to 1976 as I was born in 1966. The change of name from Bing Li to Beth Lee shows my strong desire to denounce and resist the political system in China and my embracement of the free world.
